As A Heatmap
The ramps doing their job: a 7 × 5 grid of cells coloured by value. Nothing here names a step by DESIGN — a real chart calls `resolvePalette("sequential", n)` and gets these back in order. **The rule this story demonstrates (issue #178a/#178b — colour is never the only channel, `.claude/rules/conventions.md` § Accessibility):** once an arrangement of cells carries a per-cell VALUE, colour can no longer be the sole channel. Every cell below carries `role="img"` + `aria-label` naming its position and bucket — mirroring `PlaceholderBars` in `packages/charts/src/templates-dashboard.stories.tsx`, the pattern this repo already established for exactly this problem — so the value reaches assistive tech without a hover. `title` is kept only as a SIGHTED hover convenience alongside the label, never as the only alternative. The legend below the intro paragraph gives a sighted reader the same colour → bucket mapping, so the story's own claim (the quiet step still reads as a cell against the plot ground) is checkable rather than asserted.
